FAQ

  • Office Location

In-person sessions take place at the Colorado Club Offices (4155 E. Jewell Ave, Suite 708, Denver, CO 80222). Telehealth is also available for Colorado residents.

  • Office Hours

    Daytime and evening appointments, Monday–Friday.

  • Insurance and payment

Insurance is not billed directly. Services are out-of-network, and a superbill is available if you’d like to submit for possible reimbursement.

  • Why out-of-network?

Out-of-network care allows more flexibility, privacy, and control over treatment. Insurance plans may require prior authorizations, set limits on session length or frequency, and ask for additional documentation. Staying out-of-network helps keep the focus on the work and tailor care to individual needs.

  • Who is this a good fit for?

This work tends to fit best for people who are motivated for change and open to reflection—even when it brings mixed feelings. Treatment is collaborative and moves at a pace that feels workable.

  • What ages do you work with?

Services are available for children, adolescents, and adults (including young adults). For children, treatment includes active caregiver involvement—shared goals and periodic caregiver-only check-ins. For teens, confidentiality is respected while maintaining thoughtful, appropriate caregiver involvement.

  • How medication fits

Medication is one tool among many. It may be considered when it supports a person’s goals (for example, anxiety, mood, attention, or sleep), with decisions made collaboratively after reviewing benefits, risks, and alternatives. When medication is used, the aim is the lowest effective dose, with adjustments—or discontinuation—if it is no longer helpful.

  • How therapy fits

Therapy is central to care. Treatment explores patterns, emotions, and motivations—some outside of awareness—that may be keeping a person stuck. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy (and, when appropriate, psychoanalysis) focuses on how these themes show up in relationships, work, and in the therapy relationship itself, creating more room for choice and change. This approach can be a good fit when prior therapy helped, but deeper issues still seem to need attention.

  • What is psychoanalytic psychotherapy?

Sometimes fixed, unconscious patterns can feel like being stuck in a room. This approach explores the recurring patterns and feelings that shape how a person relates at home, at work, and in therapy. By noticing what repeats (and why), putting feelings into words, and linking past and present, therapy can increase choice and flexibility. Over time, patterns often loosen and new options open up.
